An honest word
AI translation is a gift, not a miracle.
It’s good, and it keeps getting better. But it isn’t perfect. It can stumble on names, fast speech, jokes, idioms and muddy sound. We’d rather tell you that now than have you find out on Easter Sunday.
Think of it as a tool for hospitality, not a replacement for the people who make your church a family. Your bilingual members still matter more than any software.
How to get the best from it
- Give it clean sound from the sound board, not the room.
- Add names and ministry words to your custom word list.
- Ask a bilingual member to follow along on your first Sunday and tell you what they notice.
- Let listeners know it’s a machine translation, so they extend it a little grace.

What pastors usually ask first.
Do people need to download an app?
No. Listeners scan a QR code and a web page opens on their phone. They choose a language and start reading or listening. No app, no account, no password.
What equipment do we need?
A laptop or tablet with Chrome, Edge or Safari, placed at the sound desk or anywhere near a speaker. For the clearest sound, connect it to your sound board with a small USB audio adapter. Your listeners bring their own phones.
How good is the translation?
It’s good, and it’s honest about being a machine. AI translation can miss names, jokes and fast speech. Add your church’s names to the custom word list, give it clean sound, and ask a bilingual member to follow along on your first Sunday. More on translation quality.
Is there a limit on listeners?
No. Every plan includes unlimited listeners. You never pay per person, so you never have to wonder whether one more visitor will cost you.
Do you record our sermons?
No. Sermon audio is used to make captions and then discarded. Listeners are anonymous. On the Church plan, you can keep text transcripts of your services, and you can delete them anytime.
